Q. Where is my India & Ivy product made? 

A. From printing to finished product, our home goods are all hand made in Jaipur by a workroom Ivy personally sourced on a trip to India. Our garments begin in Jaipur where the fabric is hand blocked.  The fabric then travels to Chennai where it is hand smocked and finished by a skilled team of female artisans!

 

Q. How do I care for my block print items? 

A. Our fabrics are printed on organic Indian cotton using all natural vegetable dyes. We recommend dry cleaning for our garments (when possible) to keep them wrinkle free and looking their best!

Of course all of our garments may be hand washed at home as well. Please spot treat, then wash with only cold water and a mild detergent. we also recommend using your machine's most gentle cycle and laundering your India & Ivy items alone. Never bleach! Line dry and press out wrinkles with a warm iron or steam.

Q. Is my India & Ivy piece ethically sourced?

A. YES! This is so important to us - all of our pieces are created by fairly paid artisans, many of them women. We believe in slow-fashion and create pieces to truly last a lifetime! While our block printing is done primarily by men, our smocking factory employs mostly women. These women are provided with training in this beautiful traditional craft and then given employment upon completion of their training. Many of these ladies are work-from-home mothers. Your order of a hand-smocked piece allows our artisans to stay home with their little ones while earning a living!

 

Q. How does a preorder work? 

A. The beauty of an India & Ivy garment is that each piece is custom made for you and your loved ones.  When you place your preorder, your payment will be authorized, and your piece will be created especially for you! Production time is approximately three/four months from the date of your order. We suggest ordering well in advance of special occasions like birthdays, family photos, holidays.

Please take your child's sizing into account when ordering and add 3-4 months to ensure a proper fit once the order arrives! 

 

Q. Can I return or exchange my order? 

A. No problem! We accept exchanges or returns for merchandise credit within 30 days of receipt. We cannot accept any items that have been laundered or worn. Please note our lead times if you would like to exchange your garment for a different size. Email us at Hello@indiaandivy.com to initiate an exchange! 

 

Q.Is India & Ivy available in any retail stores?

A. At this time, we are e-commerce only! We hope to safely present our beautiful line at trunk shows when the global health crisis has dissipated. If you are a boutique interested in a future trunk show, please drop us a line at Hello@indiaandivy.com
